The Express & Star photo archive website is the culmination of thousands of hours of work by volunteers and members of the multi-organisation partnership.

The photographs are also the product of the time and efforts of the photographic editorial staff of the Express & Star over many decades.

Every effort has been taken to ensure the photographs presented on the website are covered by the copyright of the Express & Star.

Volunteers with an enthusiasm for local history were trained to spot the hallmarks of a photograph taken by an Express & Star member of staff.

However, given the scale of the project and the condition of the photographs there may be some featured that are not covered.

Many of the photographs had little information or only basic information.

This will send a message to the site administrators who will review your issue and respond.

The website is not manned 24/7 as it is supported by a multi-organisation partnership. But they will aim to come back to you within three working days.
