Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Mrs Jessie Beddoes, presented the new lifeboat to Lady Olwen Carey Evans, honorary life governor of the RNLI at a ceremony in Abersoch. The Most Reverend Gwilym Williams conducted a service of dedication.

The special tractor unit was pictured towing the lifeboat to the sea for a demonstration rescue at the handing over ceremony.

A fete was held in the garden of branch president Tony Guy in Albert Road. Mr Guy was pictured with Lt Cdr B Hutchinson, organising secretary, and John Butcher of the company which donated the cognac for the prize draw.

Prize winner Susan Fletcher was pictured receiving her cognac from John Butler, regional sales manager of Martell, with Tony Guy and branch chairman, Malcolm Timmins.

A fundraising event was held at Himley Hall by Stourbridge Pre-War Car Club. Brierley Hill and Kingswinford RNLI secretary John Stoker commented. Car club chairman David Groves was pictured in his 1925 Citroen.
